Our First Play Date!

Here are some quite funny pics of many (other) bald babies at our Pizza & PJ's Party we attended with the Java Mama's (mom's group I just joined here in Bloomington) this afternoon. As I write this I am watching one of my favorite reality TV shows - Jon & Kate Plus 8 (about a family with twins and sextuplets) and realizing that the group photo I snapped today of all the kids on the couch is still missing one child to match the size of their family - I can tell you the party was fun, but a little nuts at times (most of the time!) and to be in Kate's shoes everyday would be quite a challenge! So here is my salute to Kate! Reagan is worn out, and went to bed early tonight - but it was worth it - I think she made a lot of new friends...

The whole gang...(it is amazing nobody fell off the couch!)

Reagan "makes nice" with the spoon

As many of you know, Reagan has a complete disregard for baby food and is ready to sit down with us for a steak dinner with potato. I believe it is linked to the fact that all baby food is typically served on a spoon, which she has not mastered quite yet and therefore refuses to participate. She prefers finger foods that she can squish and self feed with her tiny little hands and really make a mess out of. Until today. I thought it was the spoon she was avoiding, but maybe just the food on it - here we see Reagan overcoming her spoon anxiety and accepting plain old applesauce with glee - applesauce technically is a grown up food so I believe she is willing to make an exception here.

However, still no peas, carrots or beans allowed (of the pureed variety). We'll keep you posted.

On the Road Again...

Bathtime with Grammy Playtime with a new toy Reagan rocks out! Making new friends with Bella Swinging with Daddy Reagan had a very fun weekend and Grammy and Pappy Bull's house in Erie - our weekend included shopping, playing and swinging in the new swing seat that Grammy bought for her. It was a bit cold and windy, but Reagan seemed to like it just fine - we got a few fun smiles!
Thanks Grammy and Pappy for a great weekend!

Best Friends

In honor of Reagan's 8th month birthday today I allowed her some supervised "playtime" with Payton, who was not amused. I don't know what they would do without each other...
Reagan taunts Payton

Payton fights back.

Reagan scolds Payton for punching her with her non-claw front paw.

Guess Who is 8 Months Old Today?

Grammie Haselhorst makes the blog

Here is a pic from this past weekend of my mom and Reagan - looking very happy while Reagan is intrigued with a new toy that made it back to Bloomington with us...
This weekend we will be visiting David's parents so Grammy and Pappy Bull will make their debut on the blog next week!

Our Weekend Trip

This past weekend, Reagan and I hit the road and went south to visit my parents and attend our good friend's (Scott & Bridget) bridal shower on Sunday - David stayed behind and studied for his next certification test that will complement his new job as a Financial Consultant at Country Financial (he started today - hooray!).

We also had a blast hanging out with PaPa Kenny (my dad) Great PaPa Larry (my mother's father) and tormenting dear Cindy at the shower. Good thing she is a good sport and happens to really like little ones.... namely, 8 month old babies who are grabbing everything :) I also had a chance to meet my home girls out for a bit of fun on Saturday night while Grammy watched Reagan... (sorry Bridget, you should have jumped in the photo...)

After getting home and uploading my photos last night I realize that Grammy Carla isn't in a single photo! Sorry Grammy! (You'll have to send me one of yours if you want to make the blog....)

I have a captive audience

Reagan has learned to clap. She cheers for many of my daily activities - unloading the dishwasher, eating lunch or reading a book. She even cheers for Payton when she enters the room or enjoys something she is eating. The only time Reagan doesn't cheer is when I break out the camera, then she simply stares at me blankly or tries to attack said camera as seen in the video below...but it is still super cute!!

Payton's Sanctuary

In an effort to quarantine Miss Reagan to the confines of the living room while I work, we have put up a few gates around the house - our back hallway also gives Payton access to the basement stairs, thus we installed 2 gates much to Reagan's dismay. Payton spends most of her day lounging within the safe confines of these two gates while Reagan spends her afternoons devising a way to get past them - Fortunately she hasn't been successful yet. I thought this photo was blog-worthy.

Reagan vs. the Ritz

As previously mentioned, one of Reagan's new favorite treats is a Ritz Cracker - or, should I say, many Ritz Crackers that have a better chance of ending up on the floor than in her mouth...but she loves them, nonetheless. She also enjoys watching me vacuum, and I believe the two are related...Here we have captured Reagan in her chair enjoying a snack on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The new teeth have really helped out, she can now actually take bites and spit them out instead of just gumming everything and tossing it aside. The joy of food!

Editor's Note: Notice the pinky in the 1st and 3rd photos... Dr. Evil is still alive and well!

On the Move!

Well, I promised I would capture Reagan on the move with my wimpy camera video setting (see below) here is a quite amusing video of Reagan demonstrating her crawling skills, mommy holding the camera sideways while playing a rousing game of peekaboo and Payton coming to inspect all the commotion. A day in the life of Reagan.... such fun!

Reagan's Recap (first 7 months of life)

August 18th, 2007 - Reagan finally made it into the world!

Month 1 - she likes bathtime, napping and is eating like a champ - those cheeks were bound for greatness!

Month 2 - Reagan didn't think too much of her bull costume for Halloween, she also didn't appreciate that everyone was eating chocolate, except for her.

Month 3 - Payton was a new discovery this month - they have become fast friends!

Month 4 - Christmas was a hit with the whole family, and Reagan got to wear her first dress (and tights and shoes!)... poor girl was so tuckered out after a long day of entertaining!

Month 5 - tummy time wasn't quite the chore it used to be...now that she can lift her head up!

Month 6 - was a big month for us - Reagan's first two teeth decided to show up and her first attempts at crawling began (painfully - lots of bumps and bruises - notice her forehead!)

Month 7 - our girl is an avid crawler - much to Payton's dismay - still only has 2 teeth, doesn't care much for baby food and loves anything on our plates! Such a big girl... Crawling video soon to come!

Official Stat Update: 19.5 lbs and 29" long. Full of smiles and loves to play with daddy and "read" (aka chew) books! We'll keep you posted....

My First Blog

Hello - on behalf of the entire Bull Family...welcome to our blog! After 7 months of spamming my friends and family with regular photos and updates I have decided to start an official site about Miss Reagan's everyday activities.... (and the rest of the family too) so you can check in if you are looking to kill some time, or if you think we have fallen off the face of the earth and are sick of leaving messages with us....at least you'll know we're still breathing! I have to admit that I am also doing this little blog for selfish reasons, as there are simply not enough lines in our Baby Book to document all the new discoveries and fun that Reagan now brings to our lives - I feel like every day with her brings something new, and how quickly she has changed already! Just to prove it, I will post a quick recap of the last whirlwind 7 months...

Love to you all,
Kendra (Momma Bull)
